The Number 33 Blog

My cousin, Greg Vollrath, was a big Boston Celtics fan, especially a fan of Larry Bird. He would set his alarm clock at 7:33 every morning because Larry Bird's number for the Celtics was 33 and his number on the Dream Team was 7. In 1994, when Greg was 18, he was killed in a car accident. The number 33 continues to show up in my and my family's lives since Greg's death. One year on his birthday, the odometer on my car said 83333 at exactly 8:33 pm. When our grandmother passed away, I went to the store to get a couple of items. The total was $7.33. I have often had my flight at gate 33 or been assigned a seat in Row 33 when flying. I have had hotel rooms that end in 33 at a higher percentage than what should happen by chance. One of my loves is high school sports, especially basketball.  This past summer, I took up photography.  While still a novice, I have been capturing photos at high school games.  I have started this blog to post photos of players numbered 33.
